Person Disabled Christ Enabled was founded in March 2002 by Archie Savage supported by his wife Janet and a group of Christian friends who like Archie believed that he had been called to a special ministry by God.

Archie had felt a calling to the ministry for many years but because of a physical disability, he suffers from Cerebral Palsy, it was felt that he would be unacceptable to a congregation as their minister.

In the mid-nineties while Archie was using the Internet  God once again called him to the ministry, but this time it was a specific ministry, an Internet ministry, proclaiming the  Gospel of Jesus Christ to the disabled, a section of society that had to a large extent been marginalized by the mainstream church and told my many Pentecostal churches that their disabilities were caused either their sin, or their ancestor's sin. and the reason they did receive healing was because their faith was not strong enough. This Archie found both these views objectionable, disgusting and  theologically wrong and certainly could not be equated with an all good God of love.

Rather than start immediately the Lord told Archie to wait and reluctantly he obeyed. At the end of 2002 in a crowded shopping mall the name Physically Disabled Christ Enabled was revealed to him and he was told to start the mission within three months. During this time the Lord told  Archie to approach Paul, a Christian friend who had a son with learning difficulties, to become involved in the proposed mission and to his amazement the Lord had been telling Paul to get involved.

Paul wasn't happy with the Physically part of the proposed name as it excluded many persons who had disabilities other than physical ones.  Archie was adamant that Physically Disabled was right as the mission would be known by the acronym P.D.C.E. During a meal  at Paul's home with several others Archie suddenly said out of the blue the word 'person', it was a showstopper, everyone looked  at him as though he had  gone mad. Person, he repeated. Person Disabled Christ Enabled,  P.D.C.E. Within weeks a committee was formed, a constitution was adopted and P.D.C.E. was on the Internet.
